I purchased the “better,” AA quality Ruby in the roughly half carat size stone in 14k yellow gold. The bezel setting feels very solid and the necklace, overall, looks delicate and classy. Sometimes the stone looks black but in the right light the warm red hue shines through. I’m guessing the higher quality stones probably look brighter in all lighting scenarios. The garnet heart was purchased in honor of a dear elderly friend who had recently passed. She was one of three "most influential women" in my life -- the other two being my mother and grandmother, both of whom passed more than 30 years ago. I wanted the heart in time for my friend's "celebration of life" service, and Angara overnighted it to me, without delay. Thanks! After the service, I took the heart to my local jeweler, along with a plain wedding ring that belonged to my mother [and which I have worn on a bracelet since she passed. I drew a design that included creating a cross inside the ring with the garnet heart at the center and three diamond chips added to represent my grandmother, mother, and myself, and had it placed back on my bracelet. The symbolism of what these three intelligent and powerful women meant [and continue to mean] to me in my life is fully represented in this custom-designed "infinity" circle of love.
